Kristyne Kennedy is an accomplished civil litigation attorney with over nine years of experience practicing employment law, including litigation, trial experience and providing clients with legal advice and counseling.

Background/Experience
Kristyne's primary area of practice is employment litigation, with experience litigating issues such as employment discrimination, sexual harassment, retaliation, benefits, whistleblower, overtime and unpaid wages, leave and disability issues, employment contracts, workplace torts, and other employment law claims under various state and federal laws. Her background also includes general civil litigation, including claims of negligence, personal injury, commercial litigation, business torts, premises liability and other civil matters. Much of her practice is devoted to employment litigation, representing clients in federal and state courts, as well as the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission ("EEOC"), Florida Commission on Human Relations ("FCHR") and other administrative agencies investigating employer practices. She also provides clients with legal advice and counseling regarding employer policies and various workplace law issues as they arise, with an emphasis on preventive practices. She has been a member of the Florida Bar since 2000.

Education
Kristyne earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Central Florida in Orlando, Florida in 1992 and her Juris Doctor degree from the University of Miami School of Law in Coral Gables, Florida in 1999. While at the University of Miami, she focused her studies in the area of Labor and Employment Law, and served as a Legal Intern in the Miami District Office of the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission.

Memberships / Court Admissions
Kristyne has been an active member of the Orange County Bar Association (“OCBA”) since 2001, and has been serving on the OCBA's Executive Council since 2006. Currently she is serving as the 2011-2012 President-Elect of the OCBA. She is also on the board of the Central Florida Human Resources Association, serving as the Legislative Director. Her other professional memberships include the Central Florida Association for Women Lawyers, Paul C. Perkins Bar Association, Society for Human Resource Management, American Bar Association and Central Florida Hispanic Bar Association. She is admitted to practice in all Florida courts; the U.S. District Court, Middle District of Florida; U.S. District Court, Northern District of Florida; U.S. District Court, Southern District of Florida; and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit.
